Gabar Singh Memorial
Gabbar Singh Negi was born and raised in Manjood town close Chamba, region Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand India. In October 1913, Negi selected ‘The Garhwal Rifles’. On 10 March 1915,during the season of World War-1, he was a Rifleman in the 2/39th Garhwal rifle, Indian Army, and just 21 years of age, when he showed bravery at Neuve Chapelle, France which made him to being compensated with the Victoria Cross.
