Deoria Tal Chandrashila Trek

Deoria Tal (Also spelled as Devaria’ or ‘Deoriya) is a lake located about 3 km on an uphill trek from the villages of Mastura and Sari, on the Ukhimath-Chopta road in Uttarakhand. At an altitude of about 2438 meters, it has heavily wooded, lush green surroundings with snow-covered mountains (Chaukhamba is one of them) in the backdrop. Deoria tal and Chandrashila treks are two separate distinct treks, yet inseparable due to the proximity. Both of the treks lie in Rudraprayag District of Uttarakhand. Deoria tal is renowned for its lake, whereas Chandrashila is famous for its summit. Both of the treks are relatively short and beautiful, which cover a scenic view of Himalayan range of peaks. Chandrashila trek can be more attractive by including Panch Kedar Tungnath temple and beautiful meadows of Chopta (known as mini Switzerland). Tungnath temple is the highest Shiva temple. Chandrashila trek may get hindered during winter due to heavy snow fall but the trek is permissible.
