Kasar Devi offers a delightful combination of the creature comforts of a touristy hill station and the isolation that you crave when you travel into the mountains. About 5 km down from Tamra Nagri, the Kasar Devi Mandir is situated at a height of 1750 m. The temple is mentioned in the second chapter of the Skanda Purana and is a pilgrimage site. Swami Vivekananda is said to have come here to meditate in 1820.
